Do you know the 50 Commands of Jesus?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1: 14

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’ Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.… Matthew 7: 22-24

But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. 1 John 2: 6

Okay, so we see that Jesus was the word, the living word. The word is God. The word is truth. If we claim Jesus we must walk as he did and keep his word, allow his word to refine us. Jesus makes it plainly that some will not make it into the kingdom because they acted lawlessly and did not obey him.

So the deal is that we want to KNOW him. If he is our friend, if we honor him by living according to his teachings, he will advocate for us. If he is the WORD then we must know the WORD. So the best way to get to know someone is to know their thoughts, beliefs and to spend time with them.

The cool thing is that we have the bible which clearly has Jesus commands. Now we know that this is not all of it. But it is a great start. Jesus taught from the Old Testament as well, often quoting. Let us first  study his instructions.

The bible says that even the elect will be deceived. Matthew 24:24 It is vital that we read the bible and study, while always praying for discernment. The world is darker, and we must be able to discern between truth, lies, manipulation and deception. If you do not know the word, you put yourself in a vulnerable position on so many levels. If you are not led by the Holy Spirit, if the word does not speak inside of you, even in a whisper, you put yourself in jeopardy. These times demand a life that nourishes a deeper super natural connection and guiding.

If you are riding the wave of grace, that is dangerous. After all, the gate is narrow.

Matthew 7: 12-14.: In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the Prophets. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life and only a few find it.

So let’s look at #1 on the list  & Add Luke 13: 3

I encourage you to read the context around these passages and do research in Old Testament if needed.

Matthew 4: 17

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Luke 13: 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Repentance is so important to Jesus. Everyone falls short and sins. My grandma use to say, ” There was one perfect one , and they crucified him. “

Repentance is remorse. This is like saying your sorry to your Dad if you hurt him, shamed him, embarrassed him with bad behavior or disrespect.  You would need to honor your Dad with a heart felt apology. Then, you need to work diligently not to repeat the same sin. Sometimes this is hard. Perhaps, you have an addiction or a bad habit. You might need outside help, support groups or accountability partners. But you have to make an effort, get help and repent. There is too much at stake.

For sure you need to pray for his strength. Stay close to Godly people and stay away from people that influence you negatively, who are bad influencers. Study the word, pray and spend time with your Messiah. Use scripture to rebuke the enemy. There is power in the spoken word, declaring it over your situation.

I think so many think that repentance is a “Catholic” thing. It is not. It was a campaign slogan for Jesus, ” Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”  The deal is though you do not need to go to church to repent. You can repent right there on the spot or anywhere.

The truth is that so many in the Christian arenas are talking about the rapture of the church. As things heat up, get weird in the world, this is our hope. We are not citizens of this regime run by the devil. We are citizens of a heavenly kingdom. It’s important when you know you have done wrong to say you are sorry to the human and to God. And mean it!

Reflection

  1. What areas of your life need to be cleaned up? Make a Repentance List.
  2. Are there people you need to apologize to, say you are sorry? Make a list and goals of this.
  3. What can you do to improve your relationship with God and Others?

I have a passion and compassion for people, and I love YHWH ( God) with all my heart and soul. It is my higher calling to share the teachings and love of Jesus (Yahshua) through: writing, praying, teaching and public speaking. In the Mighty name of our Messiah, through the Holy Spirits help, I passionately help set captives free from strongholds. Together with His Power, we destroy the enemy and his schemes. This frees you to live a purposeful, joyful and fulfilling life for Christ.
