Being Deliberate in Positiveness! By Shea Brewer

What if I told you that many days you are strolling through this life holding the hand of the wrong Father, a demonic Father of lies, Satan. Through your thoughts, your words and your actions, without even knowing it, you grabbed Devil Daddy’s hand. He leads you deeper into: confusion, despair, depression, sickness, poverty, loneliness and the list goes on.

Without a conscious and deliberate decision to stay in the positive, to stand on the Father’s promises and word,  our minds can so easily shift to full on stinking thinking and negative speaking. If we get on that rhythm, it’s a sure fire way to sink deeper into a hole of depression, isolation, worry or fear. Exactly what your Fake Daddy wants.  The good news is that you have the power and authority to stop that!

The bible is very clear that we are to capture every negative thought and make it holy. We are to be careful with our words, because they activate either good or bad.  Our words can be self-curses or curses on other people or blessings.

Ladies, we might think we need to vent to each other but really we need to pray for each other and help each other claim victory. Our job is stop our friends in the middle of the vent and tell them , “Let’s pray. ”  We are to be the sisters who counter attack Satan’s lies with: positive words, positive prayers,  and positive fun diversions.

Our circular patterns of negativity are that of  a snake coiling around a victim, each line of negativity restricts and paralyzes us,  cuts us off, creates confusion and dizziness. It’s amazing how quickly our  imaginations  carry us to a bad place of: death, despair, poverty, bankruptcy, sickness, hospitalizations, loneliness, worthlessness …

Our fears are manifested when we focus our energy  there. Instead we must imagine the best of possibilities, expecting miracles and love from Heavenly places, all the while praying for help and expecting results.

It’s time to stop the madness; claim VICTORY. We cannot allow anyone or anything, either physical or supernatural to steal our inner joy, our  peace, our health, our finances or our relationships.

I’m asking you to take on a Pollyanna attitude instead. Remember the,  1913 novel Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter, where Pollyanna often played the “glad game. ” Pollyanna was a sweet girl who tried to find something to be glad about in every situation.  You might be cringing, even negative about being that sappy sweet or positive…

I too am a realist. I  too am a truth teller. I’m not one to put my head in sand, brush things under the rug or to be in denial. However, there is something very powerful when we grab ahold of the best of possibilities and refuse to dwell.

We have tremendous power and authority. It’s time to assert that power given to us by the Holy Spirit, to fight the unseen forces with fortitude.  Pony Up:  It’s time for that foot stomping conviction where our shoulders pull back, our stomachs tighten, and we find ourselves hitting one fist in the palm of our other hand with power.

Momma’s you know what this looks like. Imagine that your child is being mistreated, momma bear perks up with fierceness ready for battle. That is exactly the energy that is needed in the midst of your spiritual battle. You are not defeated, so do not act like you’ve lost.  Rather, counter attack with out loud prayers, scriptures and positive counter parts. It’s time to stop buying into that fake Daddy’s lies. Grab ahold of your Saviors Promises and hand- DO NOT LET GO! Rebuke the devil, and he will flea from you!

The Heavenly- Positive Agenda is  deliberate, a conscious choice:

  • Declare and assume good even when that doesn’t seem real or even on the horizon yet.
  • Counter your negative thought with a positive Counterpart. ( Example: I’m not lonely. He walks with me)
  • Counter your negative thoughts or words with positive promises from scripture.
  • Start thanking Him Out loud, be grateful and sing a song of praises with your eyes closed.

Scripture of the Day: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. ” Philippians 4: 8-9

Faith Exercise:  Close your eyes.  Count backwards from 5. Take deep breaths. Exhale the negative.  Say you are sorry for lack of faith, fear and negative thinking/speaking about yourself or others or a situation. Then, Imagine yourself in a heavenly place of peace feeling the love and hugs of your Messiah. In your mind, lay your head on his chest, imagine him stroking your hair, as a loving Father would a hurting child. Keep breathing deep until you feel the stress leaving your body. Go outside or leave the stressful situation. Even 5 minutes meditating on Abba Daddy’s love will change the atmosphere within and around. Retreating is great for resetting our minds and hearts. Then, put something fun and light on the schedule. Don’t forget to slow down and rest, take your Sabbath. ( have a stay home in PJ’s do nothing day).
