Paying Attention to the Signs in Our Life !

 Is HE Getting Your Attention?

Moving to Austin:

Years ago, I moved to Austin because of a new job.  I was in a strange city with no family.  After a long weekend of moving  into a new apartment, my   family and boyfriend had to leave.  After I shut the door behind them, a saddness came over me and a fear of the unknown. I began to cry pretty hard, feeling all alone and unsure of what would come. I went into my bedroom and plugged in my alarm clock. To my amazement, the alarm clock was on a Christian station with a beautiful song about HIM being with me. I began to cry even harder and remember saying, ” I hear you. I hear you.” A comfort came over me knowing that I was not alone, that GOD was with me.

First Big Presentation:

With this new job, came bigger responsibilites. I was the youngest on the team in my position. We had a conference in Atlanta where all the directors had to get up and do a presentaion in front of the president of the company. I was very nervous and the day before the presentation my stomach began to hurt with anxiety. I began to worry about how it would go and frankly I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to leave the bathroom to even give my presentation. The morning of the big presentation, my alarm clock went off very early. I had not set the alarm clock at all. I had called the front desk for a  wake up call. It was very early in the morning, I was half awake and half asleep. When the alarm clock went off, a hip hop song came on and then it turned to static and a beautiful song came on, a Christian song, and I clearly heard, ” I will lift you higher. I will lift you higher. ” I remember having strong thoughts again as if to speak to the Holy Spirit. ” I hear you. I hear you.”  The presention went outstanding and the president asked for a copy of my training binder to use for the entire company. GOD answered me, calmed my nerves and He lifted me higher..just as He said.

Bad Job/ Toxic Environment:

I loved my job, my friends at work,  and I was devastated when I lost my managment job because of restructuring the company. It wasn’t long that I took a job as a Show Manager of an Interior design show. Originally, I was excited about the new opportunity, but I soon found out that it was a very toxic environment with a micromanager who was not the same every day.  One day she was hot. The next she was very cold.    I was worried sick about the new job. Should I quit? Why is she so mean? What should I do? I went to lunch one day and sat in my car in front of subway and just balled, uncontrollably. I was talking to my mom on the phone , I was beside myself with tears and emotion. Nothing said  stopped me from being so upset. Then, out of no where a grackle bird landed on my windsheild wiper blade. He was directly in front of me and looking right at me. He pecked, pecked, pecked right on my window and staring at me.  It was shocking, in fact it shocked to cry right out of me. I immediately stopped crying and told my Mom that I thought it was a sign from God that he’s with me and to stop that crying already!

Confirmation on Right Babysitter for baby:

When my daughter was born, I went through 3 sitters none of them seemed to be right. My stomach once again would hurt,  and I would have feelings that they were just not right for her.    I was getting discouraged and worried to find the right girl or lady that would be right for the baby and our family.

So I started interviewing sitters, and I prayed that God give me a sign. I had an interview with a young but very mature girl . The second she held the baby , my daughter seemed calm and really took to her. I had a good feeling about her , but needed to make sure she was the right fit. At the end of the interview, she stood up and I looked down at her foot and noticed a four leaf clover. As weird as it sounds, yes a tatoo  was a huge sign for me because  my daughter was born on St. Patricks Day. I quickly asked her, ” why do you have a four leaf clover on your foot? ” I was thinking that she may also be born on March 17th. But she said, “For good luck.”  The Four leaf clover meant something to me and I took it as sign, validation that HE was in it.

Sign in the Sky

Soon the sitter began to open up to me about  a mom who was an alcoholic, a strained relationship with her Dad and step mom and a depression that she had been battling. Most mom’s would be turned off by her stories  and see her as an unstable sitter. But I knew God had brought her to me for a reason. One day she really opened up to me about her depression and having visions of herself in a bathtub of blood. As I walked with her through the garage, I looked at her and said, ” You being here is about more than just a babysitting job. There is a bigger purpose, God has a purpose. ” When we walked out of the garage and looked into the sky, there was the most beautiful vivid double rainbow lighting up the sky!

I looked at her and said, ” Oh my goodness, look, a double rainbow. It’s a sign that what I said was true, God has a plan! ” Over the next 6 months, I saw a confidence come over her. She did not act depressed anymore, she stayed busy and positive. She began to develop a stronger relationship with both her dad and step mom which was something she had not ever had. Plus, she put herself into dental assistant school and graduated.  She also  fell in love with a great guy with a strong work ethic and positive outlook.  During the 6 months she was with me, I saw God work his magic in her life.

Scripture for today: 2 Kings: 20 Hezekiah’s Illness:

Thoughts from that reading:

  • Because of Hezekiah’s faith  & prayers, God healed him:  Sincere Faith & Prayer directed towards God can change any situation!
  • God gave him a sign that he was indeed healed. ( in reading it was a shadow of footsteps backwards on ten steps). Watch for  signs of God’s presence!
  • Hezekiah  took the glory for the miracle, bragged and used the blessings to show off!  He did not humbly give God credit and he lost everything! Honor God, Give Him credit.

I have a passion and compassion for people, and I love YHWH ( God) with all my heart and soul. It is my higher calling to share the teachings and love of Jesus (Yahshua) through: writing, praying, teaching and public speaking. In the Mighty name of our Messiah, through the Holy Spirits help, I passionately help set captives free from strongholds. Together with His Power, we destroy the enemy and his schemes. This frees you to live a purposeful, joyful and fulfilling life for Christ.
